I recently received my second Stitch Fix box! I told my Stitch Fix stylist that I really wanted something light and airy for our upcoming trip to Maui. In my mind I was thinking lace, cotton, flowy tanks. My first Stitch Fix wasn’t a bust, but it wasn’t amazing… and hey, I get that. After all, I would find it REALLY hard to dress someone else. And finding clothes to fit someone with as many clothing issues as I have?! Forget about it. So, I decided to give Stitch Fix another shot. Here are the deets:
My Second Stitch Fix Haul
Collective Concepts Mufasa Tie-Front Top
Thoughts: I wanted to like this. Truly. I thought, “This is different–crop top, tie front, interesting embroidery–let’s see if I can pull this off”. The short answer is no. No I cannot pull this off. Mainly because my chest is such rather large. I totally get where my stylist was trying to take me, but this one just didn’t work for me. I had to censor the photo. Haha
THML Lander Embroidery Detail Knit Top
Thoughts: This wasn’t bad. I mean, John did mention that he expected me to grab my sombrero… but really, I liked most of this top. I thought it was interesting and it was so soft. However, there were a few things I just really disliked about it.
#1 | It had elastic around the sleeve opening. YUCK. I hate that.
#2 | Something about the way the patterns of the top were put together just wasn’t flattering to me. I can sometimes do horizontal stripes, but I couldn’t do these horizontal stripes.
I DID like the embroidery though. It was cool!
Market & Spruce Spencer Striped Jersey Dress
Thoughts: I was afraid of this. I was afraid the stripes would be terrible, but I think they’re rather flattering. I didn’t think it was going to fit, but it totally did! I can see myself wearing this around town for a casual dress.
Skies are Blue Jilla Gupier Lace Detail Tank
Thoughts: This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted something light and airy for our Maui trip. I really wanted sleeveless tops, and my stylist NAILED it with this one. I love the lace backing, too!
Brixon Ivy Romford Stretch Lace Knit Top
Thoughts: You know I love lace. But this lace is a little bit grandma-esque. The top was too big for me, for one. And also, I just didn’t love it. The top I kept from the last fix was the same color and had lace sleeves (which I LOVE). I would have preferred something a little different. Maybe if it were in a different color and if it fit?
Total Spent: $81 (I had a referral worth $25)
Overall Thoughts: I mostly liked this fix. I thought my stylist got my style much better this time. I’ve heard that it only gets better, so we’ll see how next time goes. I did ask for light flowy clothing, and I think she tried to accommodate with the Skies are Blue lace tank.
I really liked that she pushed my style envelope, too. I wouldn’t have picked any of these pieces for myself, but I ended up really liking the two that I kept, and I could see why she chose the other pieces for me.
If you’re interested in trying Stitch Fix, feel free to use my referral link! I’ll get a $25 credit if you sign up, just FYI.
