Do you ever peek on over to see what’s in your neighbors shopping cart? I’m totally guilty of that. I’m a tad bit nosy. Today I thought it would be fun to give you a peek into my shopping cart – I’ll show you all of my recent beauty purchases. These are items I picked up at Ulta, Sephora, and online! Some of these are totally old items (even some that are being discontinued – sorry!), but others are fairly new! I’ll also be chatting about some recent goings on with my makeup. Now – let’s peer inside my shopping bags!
Spoiler alert – I’ve discovered the most comfortable bright lip colors for less than $5 each. You need these.

Buying the 2-day flash shipping was possibly the best or worst decision I could have made. 2-day shipping for an entire year for only $10?! How could I say no? On one hand – yay! – 2 day shipping with no minimum purchase amount. On the other hand – yikes! – 2 day shipping with no minimum purchase amount.
I recently decided to depot my Benefit Cheek kit from Christmas. The packaging is cute, but it was SO clunky and I hated that I had to take the entire palette just to use one of the blush colors. So, I tore them out of the foamy material and then I had no where to put them… so they sat in the tin box for a while. Then, I remembered that Sephora sold Z Palettes and I ordered one quick! Luckily all of the benefit powders fit in it, so now I have a much more sleek option! … and I got that sucker in 2 days, with free shipping from Flash Shipping. Dangerous.

I have been eyeing the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks for as long as I can remember… but I don’t love shelling out $22 for a single lipstick when I can pay $5 for an amazing drugstore one. BUT – I heard they were discontinuing the line in preparation for the new Vice line which will boast 100 (!!) different lipsticks, so I stalked my Ulta store and snagged a couple for half off! I picked up the shades Bang – a super bold orange (because that’s my life right now) – and Matte Menace – a gorgeous fuchsia!
We all know bright lipsticks have been my life lately. Would you be surprised if I told you the only shades I’ve purchased this month have been bright oranges, purples, and pinks? Ha!
So – I got my hair cut. Like seriously cut. Brand new style. It was scary, but I needed the change. As I’m sitting in the chair while my stylist is razoring my hair, I have an epiphany – I don’t have a flat iron! As soon as I got done with my appointment my husband drove me to Ulta and I had to pick up a new straightener.
Lucky for me the Gorgeous Hair Event is going on right now and I snagged a $150 Chi for $50 (I did have some points to use… but still that’s an awesome deal).

Technically these items were purchased in HEB – our favorite Texas grocery store chain. If you have an HEB and you aren’t browsing the beauty aisle you need to start! HEB has amazing coupons and they carry awesome brands. All of the typical drugstore brands, plus NYX and elf!
On this particular day I was feeling extremely out of control. If you read my recent life update you know that I’m basically a sitting duck… waiting for word on where we’re moving. I’ve decided that I’m going to exercise some control by changing my appearance (and now you know why I recently gave my hair a chop chop). I needed some new concealer (I mean… needed is a strong word), so I picked up the NYX HD concealer to test out.
Then I saw the Summer Milani display and I about lost my marbles. I am a big fan of Milani lipsticks. They’re pigmented and gorgeous. There were several BRIGHT and bold shades glaring at me from the shelf. I immediately picked up the bright pink and bright orange (duh) and then I stood, staring at the true purple shade halfway afraid of picking it up. I’ve been super envious of the girls who can rock a bold shade like a true purple. How bold can you be, right?! After turning away and back once I said, “what the hell” and tossed it in my cart.
Surprise! I freaking love these Milani lipsticks and I adore the purple. It’s a true purple. None of that pinky purple BS (which is still beautiful…). It’s straight up PURPLE. And. I. Love. It.

I made a ColourPop order in April (when my orange lipstick obsession started), but I couldn’t resist when they had their 20% off sale a couple of weeks ago. In that order I bought my first Super Shock shadow – the color named 3. I also bought a Matte liquid lipstick (First Class), an Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick (Botanical – aka Bae), a Lippie Stick in Chi Chi (yes, all of these are orange), and a highlight in Wisp.
I quickly fell in love with the Super Shock shadow. It was SO pigmented and it didn’t budge. So when the sale started I knew I wanted to pick up some more. I ended up with Lala, Midnight, Dare, and So Quiche. I also picked up 2 of their liners (Swerve and HoneyDude and 2 more Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks because the formula is amazing. I bought the shades London Fog and Molly.
Unfortunately So Quiche arrived shattered. I was hesitant to even contact their customer service because from experience a company’s customer service is great or it sucks… I finally decided to just send an email. I included a photo of the shattered shadow and kindly asked if I could get a replacement. I offered to send the broken one back if necessary. Within a day and a half I received a super nice email from them with shipping information for a new shadow! ColourPop’s customer service is BOSS. Thanks, Colourpop.
May 2016 GlossyBox!
Another really exciting thing happened early this month. Glossybox reached out to me! They wanted to send me the May box and who am I to deny them that privilege? 😛 I readily accepted and I was giddy when it came in the mail this week. I got some great things in the box. Check out my recent unboxing video.
Over all, I’d totally love to try Glossybox again. I think it’s a great value for $21 and it looks like they take a lot of care into curating the boxes. I was super impressed with the quality of the actual box… like the cardboard box. I know that’s super silly, but I’ll recycle those and use them for something else so I like that they’re good quality.
I also loved that Glossybox included an insert telling the price and important information about each product included – such a nice touch!
So that was all my loot. I’m putting myself back on a spending hiatus because we’re moving soon, and I’ve spent too much, and I need to stop. But seriously. I picked up some AWESOME stuff lately and this post is proof. The stands outs for me have been the lipsticks. I was on a cheek/highlighter kick and now I’m back to lip lust. Give me all the bright colors. I want every orange, purple, and pink known to mankind!
