It’s Monday morning; you slept through your alarm and spilled coffee on your shirt. You’re trying to put on your makeup while also stuffing your face before you have to rush out the door. Life is crazy and you don’t have room in your schedule for a time-consuming makeup regimen. Today I’m taking a break from speaking directly to other makeup lovers and I’m speaking to the everyday lady. The lady who simply wears the bare minimum, who detests lengthy makeup tutorials. Today I’m sharing 3 of my favorite one shadow eye looks!
I’m not naive. I know that not everyone has the luxury of time to put on their makeup – let alone enjoy the process! It’s ok if you don’t enjoy putting on makeup… but that doesn’t mean it should be a chore. On days I’m running late and I don’t have time to divulge in a soothing makeup application (for me that’s a full face, contour, bold lip sort of thing), I go for a one shadow look. Eyeshadow is one of the most time consuming parts of my makeup regimen. By cutting it down to only one shadow, I save a lot of time.
I love one shadow makeup looks because they’re simplistic, require literally no tools, and I don’t even have to line my lashes for a put together look.
Rose Gold One Shadow Look
Metallic shadows appear tricky at the surface, but when you utilize them appropriately, they can be a lifesaver! I love using L’Oreal Infallible shadow in Amber Rush for a quick rose gold eyeshadow look.
There is literally one step for this look. Pat the shadow onto your lids using your finger. That’s it. Seriously.
Everyday Neutral One Shadow Look
For the days where you simply just need some color on your lids, this type of look is best. I used ColourPop’s “3” to get this neutral eye look. It has some small specks of glitter, but really just enough to add dimension – perfect for one shadow looks!
Once again, all you need to do is pat the shadow on your lids using your finger. If you want to take it one step further, take a fluffy blending brush and blend the color up and into the crease. BAM! Instant depth without the fuss of a deeper crease shade.
Pop of Color One Shadow Look
Sometimes you just feel a little spunky! I like to rock a bright eye look from time to time. Unfortunately, sometimes I oversleep and I have to do a super quick makeup look. For those days, I reach for my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald.
To get this look, once again, you just pat the color onto your lids. For some added pizzaz, I also used a liner brush to smudge some on my lower lash line. I think this adds a fun twist.
Call for your questions!
I seriously love blogging about beauty, but I understand that for many people, “makeup looks” can get boring. It has always been my goal to write about things that my audience relates to. I aim to be helpful! When I hear things like, “oh my gosh – you just made my morning routine so much simpler” it makes my year. So, I want to know – what kind of beauty posts would YOU like to see? Leave me a comment and let me know. Your input is so appreciated.
