We want our New Year’s Eve makeup to last all night whether we’re spending the night with friends in one of their homes or we’re out on the town. No one wants to look in the mirror just before midnight to find mascara flaking, lipstick long gone, and evidence of where eyeshadow WAS.
Today I have two very important objectives. Number one is to share a stunning New Year’s Eve makeup look with you. Number two is to eat some crow and share that I’ve discovered the best lipstick I have ever used.
New Year’s Eve Makeup Tutorial
A few of these products were sent to me for free in order to do the tutorial, but these are 100% my own thoughts.
We’re not sure where we’ll be hanging out on New Year’s Eve. This year we might be home alone, which is totally fine with me. #oldladystatus But wherever you are, I think you’ll enjoy this NYE makeup tutorial.
The Best Lipstick Formula
This lipstick is magic. I mean pure magic and this is coming from the most skeptical person you’ve ever met. It is vibrant. It is super moisturizing. It is the longest wearing lipstick I’ve ever put on my lips. To top it all off? It does not budge. It doesn’t smear. It doesn’t fade. It doesn’t transfer. For real. It truly doesn’t. It’s completely white linen, kiss, hamburger-eating approved.
What is the Best Lipstick Formula?
Lipsense by Senegence is a lip color that molecularly bonds to your lips. It does not contain any waxes and in fact, it helps break down any wax from previous lip products. This helps your lips have normal cell turnover so they’re softer and healthier. Lipsense color must be used with the gloss (and no other lip products). The gloss seals the color and is the reason it lasts and doesn’t smudge. Lipsense comes in over 70 colors and wears for 4-18 hours. On me, it wears for 12-18 hours. I’ve even fallen asleep in the lipcolor and it still looks fantastic in the morning.
Also – you can mix and match colors! 2 lipsense colors can create 8 different lip looks by mixing and matching.
This is 1 layer of Violette, 1 layer of Cranberry, 1 layer of Violette. It’s the most gorgeous berry-red.
Is Lipsense a Scam?
Time for the crow eating. Ready for some real talk? I kind of despise MLMs (Multi-level Marketing Companies). I’ve never had any luck with them and I find that although their products may be *ok*, I can usually find something just as *ok* in the store on my own. I hardly ever purchase products from friends who are involved with MLMs just to avoid any weirdness.
However, when one of my oldest blogging friends approached me about purchasing Lipsense, I caved. I had seen the videos and honestly I just wanted to see if it really worked, so I bought a color (Kiss for a Cause) and gloss from Jana about three weeks ago. I wore it for about a week and a half straight (and yeah, it lasted through two Thanksgiving dinners, seconds at both, and dessert).
After I tried the product, I realized how much I loved it and I really started to question my sanity. It was an MLM, afterall. I was talking to one of my sisters about it and I realized that if this weren’t a product from an MLM I’d be blogging about it non-stop. So, when Jana asked if she could send me 2 shadowsense colors and a lip color to do a tutorial with, I pounced at the opportunity (and totally purchased 2 other colors from her in the process).
In the spirit of full disclosure: I don’t accept product in exchange for a video and/or a full-on blog post. I’m paid for my reviews and I believe that’s fair. I am always selective when it comes to the products I post about, but still… I’m paid. I believe you know that by now because I always disclose that stuff. However, I was not paid for this post or video. That’s how much I love this stuff.
All that to say – I know that multi-level marketing companies skiev a lot of people out (they do me, too!). I know that you’re leery of the opinion of people who have something to gain (I have nothing to gain). If I’m honest with myself and with my experience with cosmetics, I have to tell you the truth. The truth is that Lipsense is the best product I have ever placed on my lips – I’m really happy to tell you about it.
Who Would Benefit From Using Lipsense?
I really think everyone would benefit from using Lipsense. Even if you’re not into bold colors (or even lipstick in general) I think you’d benefit from the formula of lipsense. When we drove 12 hours to Texas for Thanksgiving, I had been wearing Lipsense for about a week. Because I wanted something low maintenance, I just threw on the gloss by itself. I remember looking at my husband halfway through the trip and saying, “uhm… my lips look amazing. I think this stuff really does what it says it does.”
Senegence (maker of Lipsense) also has an entire line of cosmetics. I’ve also tested the Shadowsense eyeshadow and I was happy with how it wore and the number of different uses I got out of a shadow (outlined in the video above). Dual purpose makeup products are so valuable, so the fact that I wore the same product as a shadow, liner, and a contour made me really happy. Can you believe that shadowsense colors can be used as blushes and highlights, too?
I decided last minute that I wanted to do a giveaway for this post. I asked Jana if she would be ok with that and she offered to split the cost with me. So – we’re giving away one Lipsense kit (color, gloss, and Oops remover). Best of all? The Winner gets to choose the color! All you have to do is enter below. ? US entries only, please.
So, to sum in all up…
In my opinion, Lipsense is the best lip product on the market. If you’re looking for lipstick that truly does not budge you have to try this. Lipsense is the perfect New Year’s Eve makeup, but it’s fantastic for everyday use.
So tell me – What Lipsense Color are you hoping to wear with your New Year’s Eve Makeup this year?
