As a type A personality, I’ve had to teach myself how to trust my husband to do tasks I thought only could be handled by me. He knows me. He knows what I need. It’s ok to let go of the reins a little. That’s why I thought I should finally hand over the cart to him… by letting him choose my makeup for a day.
There’s something really sweet about marriage. When you’re loved so much by someone, sometimes they know what you need before you realize you need it. My heart floods each time John anticipates my needs before I realize them. Sometimes it’s a glass of wine waiting for me when I get home. Other times it’s packing my toothbrush when I overlooked it. So why shouldn’t I let my husband pick my makeup now and again? This was a pretty fun experiment. Here’s what he chose, and why.
My Husband Chose My Makeup
So, this my friends is what he chose… and his reasoning behind it. The look actually turned out pretty well. Maybe I should let him blindly choose my makeup more often.
Why did you chose The Balm Instain Blush in Toile? I liked the packaging and the cool blue hat (and the cute little box).
What about the mascara – Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Mascara? – I read the title and it got me – this is the one. Plus, I know you use it a lot.
And what about the eyeliner you chose? Laura Geller liner in Gunmetal? I chose it because we went shooting last weekend and it didn’t seem like a makeup color so I was curious.
You picked the Urban Decay Naked Smoky. Why? Because I bought it for you the day it came out and you don’t wear it enough.
And the Benefit Hoola Bronzer? I like the name because we like to go to Hawaii.
You chose ColourPop Lippie Stick in ChiChi. I think I know the reason… but tell me anyway. You have big boobs *belly laughs* and it seemed to fit.
Anastasia Glow Kit in Starburst – Because I like Starburst candy… your face looked like a Starburst at the end.
I was impressed though. It came out pretty good. I thought I’d pick some $#!* and you’d come out looking like a clown. I think you must have been sneaking some drinks and feeling kind of brave when you came up with this idea.
Kudos to you, John. I think you picked some great products. 😉 Maybe next time I’ll let you apply them.
Would you let your significant other choose your makeup (or clothes) for you?
