1 | Sign Up for Rewards Programs
Ulta and Sephora have great rewards programs. The more you spend, the more you save. You can rack up points in a hurry while buying things that you already need like face wash, moisturizer, shampoo & conditioner, and of course makeup products. You can use those points to get products that you want. I like to save mine up and then go on a shopping spree.
Many subscriptions boxes also have rewards programs where you can review the items you receive in your box for points. Birchbox has a great system where you get 10 points when you review an item and 100 points = $10 to use in their shop! These add up quickly for some awesome savings.
2 | Use Coupons
Most places have coupons from time to time. If you can wait until you have coupons to buy makeup, then you can save quite a bit. I like to wait until I have a 20% off entire purchase coupon to buy things from Ulta. Pair the coupon with some rewards points and you can really save!
Supposedly, Ulta honors manufacturer’s coupons, too! So get to clipping.
3 | Watch for Deals on HauteLook
HauteLook.com is one of my favorite places to look for deals on makeup. They always have great beauty deals. I’ve scored some amazing deals on Tarte and The Balm cosmetics. Be sure to check for new deals daily because they’re always coming and going. Plus, the deals don’t last forever and things sell out fast. However, if you stay on top of it, you can basically steal some high end makeup. They sometimes have deals where you can save over 50%! BARGAIN.
4 | Buy the Kit
Many brands bundle products into kits. The kits may seem gimmicky–but watch out–many times you can get a kit for just a little bit more than you could get one full sized product. One of my favorite brands that bundles kits seasonally is Laura Geller. In most kits, you can get 3 or more full sized products for about 1.5x the price of one full sized product.
Kits are a great way to try new products, too! I’m not always willing to shell out money for a new product that I haven’t tried, but if it comes in a kit with something I already love, I’ll go for it.
Go ahead and give these kits a try:
5 | Buy Travel Size
One great thing about high end makeup is that travel size is available! Many of my favorite items are available in trial sizes and for a fraction of the cost. If you’re not one to wear makeup a lot or if want a more affordable way of trying out high end products, look for travel size!
Some brands even do travel sized kits! This is an awesome way to try a bunch of different things for a very low cost.
