We have endless to-do lists. Sometimes it feels like there just are not enough hours in the day. Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t take care of ourselves like we need to. We let things slip. We don’t moisturize. We don’t sleep enough. We don’t drink enough water. It’s easy to do because there are only 24 hours in a day. Our skin suffers because we feel like there isn’t ample time to take care of it.
“But I don’t have time,” you say.
Today I thought it would be fun to discuss a few things that will literally take you 3 minutes or less and will drastically improve your skin… ok, and I also wanted to bring you a super fun DIY sleep mask project.
3 Minutes to Happy Skin
Take 3 minutes to do each of these things, daily. Not only will you see a difference in your skin, but you’ll feel better knowing you’re taking steps to take good care of your body.
Did you know that washing with hot water is actually harmful to our skin? I know. It feels so nice to stand under the hot water… but it is killing the moisture in your skin. Luckily, Jergens knows it’s imperative to lock in the moisture when skin is still wet. Before you’re dry, apply Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer and dry as normal to enjoy 24 hours of soft, moisturized skin.
Cleanse & Treat
Cleansing is especially important for our faces. Once or twice a day, give yourself a deep cleaning face wash. Before applying moisturizer, use a spot treatment to take care of any blemishes that may be lurking. My favorite spot treatment is just plain old Tea Tree Oil.
Don’t Neglect Your Cuticles
This is one of my worst habits, but I’ve gotten much better as of late. You wash your hands so often, and your cuticles will get dry and flakey (gross). In addition to applying Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer, give your cuticles some TLC and apply a cuticle oil to keep them soft.
I believe doing those three things for your skin will help you live a happy and healthy life. Your skin is the largest organ in your body, so why wouldn’t you want to take great care of it?
Hop on over to Walmart and pick up Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer today.
And for the moments when you aren’t strapped for time, treat yo self and take a little cat nap. Getting plenty of sleep is good for your skin, too!

DIY Sleep Mask Instructions
DIY Sleep Mask Supplies
- scrap fabric
- scrap fusible fleece
- sewing machine
- 12 inches 3/8″ elastic
- straight pins
To make the DIY sleep mask, you’ll need to print a pattern (just Google “DIY Sleep Mask pattern” and you’ll get dozens of results). Cut out the pattern, and pin it to fabric that has been doubled.
Cut out the pattern so that you’re left with 2 piece of fabric in the shape of the pattern. Next, you’ll need to do the same with some fusible fleece, except you only need 1 layer of it. Fuse the fleece to one of the pieces of fabric.
Next, cut a 12 inch piece of 3/8″ elastic and pin it to the fabric that has the fusible fleece adhered to it. Be sure to only allow the bare minimum to overhang. When you sew the mask together, you want to be sure that the excess is hidden within the mask.
Sew the elastic on each side of the mask. Then, with the right sides together, pin both the fabric with fleece to the other matching fabric piece. Make sure the elastic is sandwiched between the two pieces.
Leave a 2 inch opening on the straight edge of the mask. The opening will allow you to turn it right side out once you sew it.
Sew around the mask.
Turn the mask right side out and note the hole at the top of the mask.
Turn in the fabric, pin, and sew around the entire mask.
All holes should now be sewn shut and your mask is complete! Now, wasn’t that diy sleep mask easy?
