Around these parts, football is kind of a big deal. Like, a really big deal. I took you on a tour of my city, which happens to revolve around my alma mater, but I didn’t touch on football. Even though the Aggies don’t have a great track record, football is still a huge to-do. We care about our team. We’re the original 12th man–just ask E. King. Gill.
When I was in college, we’d roll out of bed at 11 am for a 2:30 game and have a beer with breakfast. We’d throw a t-shirt on, gather our hair in a bun, and make the hike to the stadium for Fightin’ Texas Aggie Football! Today, the college co-eds have upped their football-fancy game! At the last game I attended a couple of weeks ago, I saw girls (coming in late) wearing cute flirty skirts, button down blouses, and Kendra Scott earrings. No messy buns were to be had. I nearly keeled over. When did this happen? When did attending a football game become more about fashion, and less about the game? Flabbergasting.
Despite what the younger generation is doing, I still don’t “dress up” for games. I keep it neutral and comfortable (t-shirts for me, please). I started by patting E.L.F.’s Cruisin’ Chic all over the lid, and deepening the look with a couple shades from the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette (read how it compares to the Naked Basics 1 here).
I kept the face neutral using my IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream all over, with Benefit Rockateur on the cheeks, and LORAC Pro Matte Lip Color in French Rose (from the Love, Lust, and Lace collection).
Is it just me, or does Miranda look like a modern-day DCC (that’s “Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader”
)? It’s got to be her subtly smoky eye, glossy lip, and stunning BTH (that’s “Big Texas Hair”).
This will be our last Makeup Mix-up for November. We’re taking next week off to celebrate Thanksgiving. But we have some stupendous prompts for December.
