I’ve been doing so many home, recipe, and DIY posts lately. I’ve really been loving this space for the past several months and the new direction of Making Mrs. M, but it occurred to me recently that those of you new to my blog may not have had a chance to really get to know me! Back in the day, these “currently” posts were an every week occurrence around here, and I thought it would be fun to do one today.
My Life Currently
Listening to ||
Last weekend my husband set up the receiver for our outdoor speakers, so I’ve been listening to Pandora while working at our new table all week. I love tuning into the Beatles or Max Stalling stations.
The Beatles make me so so happy. I have tons of memories of listening to them in the car with my mom. They were her favorite.
Max Stalling takes me back to the early days of my marriage and dating relationship with my husband. We’ve seen Max in concert several times, and he’s always our go-to while driving. Never heard of him? No worries. He’s a Texas artist, his lyrics are BRILLIANT, and his music is upbeat and polka-ish.
I’ve been getting my money’s worth out of my recent dress purchases. I’ve been living in my 2 Costco dresses (yes, that Costco), my new floral maxi, and the Halogen dress from my last Trunk Club.
I’ve been drinking less coffee in attempt to control some of my anxiety (yay, adulthood) and surprisingly I haven’t really missed it that much. The past couple of days I’ve had a green smoothie for breakfast, and that has helped.
Thinking about ||
Our anniversary is next month, and we’ve always gone to the Frio River. This year, we won’t be able to go since we’re about 1000 miles away and I’m missing it a lot. A few days on the Frio always leaves me feeling relaxed and so so happy. I hope we can find somewhere here that does the same for us.
Looking forward to ||
May 19th – John Mulaney’s stand up tour! He’s one of our favorite comics, so it’s really exciting to be able to see him live.
I am utterly in love with my houseplants, always. This week I added a new baby to the mix – a snake plant (Sansevieria). But uhh… I don’t have a pretty photo of it, yet, so here’s a photo of my sweet little polka dot plant.
Grateful for ||
I’m always grateful for my husband and home, but since spring is here I’ve really been grateful for our back yard. It is the perfect little oasis for us and it has been so much fun putting it together.
Before you jump to conclusions, I should first tell you that there’s an announcement coming in the next few weeks… and it’s not that I’m pregnant. Sorry to burst your bubbles. BUT – I’ve been reading The Birth Partner.
Sometimes I feel like some women have it and some don’t. I’ve been trying to stay on top of laundry, but it just hasn’t happened. Why is it such a beating?
Ha. This week, I got a lesson on the many ways my mom made tuna fish salad… so of course, I had to make some. I’m looking forward to those leftovers.
I’ve been trying to focus on positive things lately, but I always hate olives. Always.
I’ve been discovering that I’m a total outdoor plant newbie. Just bought some pansies… apparently those love sun, but don’t like heat above 65 degrees? Bummer.
There are a few changes happening soon which have left me feeling excited, and nervous, and a little bit scared. Thankfully the excitement overshadows the other feelings.
Apparently, I still love Friends. Already midway through season 8 for the 100th time.
I’d love it if you’d tell me what you’re up to these days. If you’re new reader, introduce yourself – and don’t forget to check out my new reader page for more information how what you’ll find here.
