Last week was a rough one for me. I want to thank you for all of your kind words on this post. I’ve set out to respond to the comments about a hundred times, but every response that I write just seems to pale in comparison to what I’m actually feeling. Be patient with me.
So, last week kind of sucked. Ironically, the worst day was Friday. I’m pretty sure when I got home, I pretty much zoned out. I was asleep by 10. When I woke up Saturday morning, I got up, ate breakfast, and put on my makeup. Nothing works as a mood picker-upper as much as makeup does. Can anyone else relate to that?
We had a baptism and party to go to that morning, so after I got dressed, we scurried off to the church and had a great time with close friends, and a sweet new baby.
And do you know what? I felt so good. It felt amazing to be dressed up, to be spending time with friends, and to finally get some relief from the blues.
Saturday evening, after the hoopla was all done, I decided that I couldn’t let a good outfit/makeup day go undocumented.
John My photographer and I headed downtown to scope out some photo locations and we came upon these run down buildings–all different colors! I thought what better way to document beating the blues than in one of my favorite dresses, in front of a blue building. Because I’m just that clever.
So, all of this to say thank you for all of the support. I’m so happy to call you my friends… I’m also really happy for makeup and pretty clothes.
How do you beat the blues? Let’s discuss it in the comments.
