My mom might possibly be the queen of strange cocktails and her most recent one definitely had me scratching my head. Recently she and my dad have been up to their ears in cucumbers and jalapeños. You can only can so many vegetables until you decide you have to do something else. And so, the cucumber jalapeño margarita was born. My mom swears up and down that this cocktail is the most refreshing summer drink she’s ever had. So, when I was home last weekend she decided she’d whip one up for me. Being the finicky daughter I am, I insisted she add peach.
I have to say, I am absolutely surprised by this cocktail. It’s refreshing and fruity, although not too sweet. The jalapeño doesn’t add heat, but it adds a hint of mystery. It truly is the perfect summer cocktail. I’m a believer.
On a funnier note, I forgot to mention that my mom made this margarita for me… for breakfast. Yep. That’s right folks. We have cocktails before noon and I’m not mad about it. Live a little, right?
Here’s how to make it:
Cucumber Peach Jalapeño Margarita
First, go pick a fresh cucumber and jalapeño. Kidding… sort of. 😉
Ok, ok. For real. Here’s how to make this delicious cucumber peach jalapeño margarita. Thank me later.
Add 1 peach (peeled and sliced) and 1/2 a cucumber (peeled and cubed) to a blender.
Pour in in 1.5 shots tequila and 6 oz. margarita mix. Blend until smooth.
For on-the-rocks, strain the cocktail over ice into a glass. If you prefer a blended margarita, simply add ice to the blender and blend until smooth.
Slice half a jalapeño very thinly. Add slices to the cocktail and stir.
Garnish with a jalapeño slice, drop in a straw and enjoy your breakfast! 😉
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this margarita. I knew farm fresh vegetables were delicious… but I never imagined I’d enjoy them in my cocktail!
If you’re looking for the perfect summer cocktail, definitely give this one a shot. I think it would be perfect as a mystery drink for summer BBQs or game nights. No one would assume there’d be jalapeño in their cocktail!
What is the craziest combination you’ve had in a cocktail?
Want to try this Cucumber Peach Jalapeño Margarita? Pin it for later!
Ok that DOES sound like the best summer drink ever! Your mom is a genius 🙂 Hell, I want one for breakfast!!
I can get down with the cucumber and the pepper, but I dunno about the peach part… But that’s mostly because I just don’t like fruit! Still, you know I’d drink this. It’s got alcohol in it? DONE
THESE LOOK AMAZING!! I love the jalapeño in combo idea xx
I’m one of those “don’t knock it til you try it” people. There’s never harm in trying a new “out there” dish or drink. Sweet and spicy? I think I could get behind these!
I agree with Kiki. I’d be down to try this margarita. I mean, it has alcohol in it right?! 🙂
Girl, you have the most amazing photography skills–not only makeup but also food! This looks so good! My favorite drink of choice is a margarita but I like them so much we can’t keep tequila in the house 😉
I am collecting all of your cucumber recipes since I will be packed to the gills soon. I also have 4 jalapeno plants, so breakfast at my house! The addition of peach is so smart to add a little sweetness without overpowering the subtle flavors of the cucumber and pepper.
